It is in the messiness of community that we often find the clearest image of the Divine.
Faith as a Verb
Progressive faith is not just about believing the right things, but about doing the right things for the right reasons. When we stand up for justice, we are participating in a long tradition of people who believed the world could be kinder. It requires us to listen more than we speak and to follow the lead of those most affected by injustice.
Building Better Neighborhoods
Showing up can be as simple as attending a city council meeting or as involved as organizing a clothing drive. The scale matters less than the consistency of our presence. We want to be a people who are known for what we love and how we serve, rather than what we oppose.
Look around your own block this week and ask where a little more light is needed. You might be surprised to find that the person who grows the most through service is actually you.
